Has anyone done a larger scale G? My uncle flew them out of Italy in the war. Hint NOT1/144

There were so few G models produced, there isn't a big call for them in scale model I guess. I can't even find a photo of one. Would it be hard to convert one? Changing the nose guns isn't too hard, although I don't know the positions. The problem is adding the Ball Turret...I assume its in the same spot as on the J? Looks like John Dell has never released a G model, but he's got H and J models. (sorry, if that doesn't help) https://www.ecardmodels.com/index.ph...=b-24h&x=0&y=0

As far as I can tell, the -G is a -D with the power nose turret. Coincidentally, the -G was built by NAA in Dallas, and I live on the east side of there. Most of the -G's went to Italy in the 15th, which is where my uncle was, rather than the much more famous 8th. Guess you could graft a -J turret on a D nose and be pretty close but thats beyond my ability. My uncle was kind of sub navigator, he never was long for any particular one, but we know he was in that one, as it was totalled out. He was also on the B-29 at the bottom of Lake Mead but that's a secret. He wasn't good for aircraft.

B-24Gs did come with and without a nose Turret, with and without waist guns,
with and without the lower ball turret, with and without larger engines! Late B-24Ds, as they are sometimes referred to, were built by North American - Dallas. The first block of B-24Gs (25 machines) were just B-24Ds without waist guns. No Nose Turret...three MG configuration. The next production groups (B-24G-1 and B-24-5) sported the new Emerson Nose Turret. Although it was externally identical to B-24H being produced by Consolidated, the B-25G-1 was heavier resulting in poorer performance. Most of these went to the Mediterranean theatre. The early G-1 and G-5 models also had inward opening Nose Gear doors. B-24G-10 models were modified with a Sperry ball ventral Turret and increased power from R-1830-65 engines. In all, a total of only 430 B-24Gs were produced before NA-Dallas switched to B-24J production.
