But the lower fairing is pasted with a mistake! It needs to be shifted to a model nose that lines matched. |

I saw that when I built it, but I will leave it as is - maybe I'll try to fix it with paint. It looks like the aft section of the fairing is longer in my model than in yours. Thanks again for the help.
Your picture comes in handy today because I'm working on the underwing strakes. |

Joe........ that was what I was talking about in the PM......... starting from the back... align the markings and tack the middle of the fairing down and hold until the glue is set. Then move to the forward section and tack the middle down and hold until the glue has set. Then you can glue the sides once the front and rear sections have set and are in the exact center of the fuselage...... the dashed markings on the fuselage are NOT for exact placement of the fairing, just a general placement guide.
The markings that need to be align with others on the fuselage are the guides for the exact fairing placement. The fairing MUST be aligned with the center of the fuselage both front and back in order for everything to line up. But the markings on the fairing and fuselage that need to line up are the most important thing and must be lined up before gluing the fairing to the center of the fuselage............ Hope this makes sense.......... |

John, the openings in the fairing match the openings cut into the fuselage exactly. Also the support pieces 17 and 18 are set on their guide lines on the fuselage. Anyway, I'll just keep on and we'll see how it turns out. The front of the fairing matches the dotted lines on the fuselage. Only the end of the fairing overlaps the dotted lines and the door.

Thanks. I think it'll look good hanging from the ceiling.

Finally, the 3D printed nose.

I've never thought about printing parts out on a 3D printer, but that nose cone sure looks good. I guess for a purist nothing but paper can be used for a paper model. But for ones own enjoyment, why not.

Thanks. I'm OK with one plastic part. My paper nose didn't look very good. Next time I'll try paper again with some tricks from posters above. So what's your opinion on glazed cockpits made with clear plastic?

I think the nose looks great. Plastic windows would be OK, but tinted. Hate to let other modelers look inside and realize it's a paper model.
