Salvaging the Broken Nose of the Dream Lifter

The Dream Lifter at Post 1 suffered a fall from the ceiling where it was hung and broke her nose, i.e. the first two section of the nose caved in (because of the 10g lead weights in it) and was beyond repair. Thought of disposing of the model by way of dustbin treatment. But the condition of the hot laminated body though covered with dust looked still good. So after cleaning the whole plane with a slightly wet sponge, yeah, wet sponge, removing the dust and grit, there was a chance of salvaging it. So that's the beauty of using the hot laminated method in building large scale models. This model was first built in Nov 2017 and is still in good shape though I hung it near the window all the time. It's been thru the weather from outside and airconditioning inside the room.

Then I hot laminated the nose cone part after getting it from the printer and started the nose job repair. Some of the undercarriage is gone but I'll have it repaired later. No need for me to go on talking, just take a look at the pictures. I'm quite satisfied with the result.
