Many thanks for kind words! Time to think the next project or projects.
The bad news is that with the heavy amounts of rain that fell this weekend there was a repeat of the river floods, the flooding continues, I was left without drinking water, but we continued on. |

Well friends, organizing the next constructions, I think I can show what's coming.
The tragedy of the floods put me back into home office, so between spontaneous volunteering and work, I once again have some free time like during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Here are the next projects that should occupy me for a few months, one of the cycles I mentioned is all cut out here (but I'll leave it as a surprise for now). Among the new features is Brent's Wirraway and one of the repaints of Gerry1966's Ju-88 (I asked him what he would like to see built and he chose this model). Bruno recently sent me the AMX, and I printed the Brazilian versions that should be in the "scissors" soon. With this forced free time, to rest my head I'm reading this historical novel, which is about Brazilian mercenary pilots in the service of the "generalissimo" (there is no translation into English but it is a redundancy of authority, something like high general). The "generalissimo" was the dictator Trujillo of the Dominican Republic, who employed Brazilians in his Air Force in the 1950s. Then I remembered Vampire and this is the first project of this new wave. Inspired by the wonderful work of Jan Kytop, we also bring two "lightweights", a J-3 Cub (repainted by Rata) and an Aeronca L-3 (I've already built one in FAEC colors). These start tonight. |

Thank you very much, although we are still far from normal here, little by little things are getting better.
Thank you, I bought your two 1/100 repaints, I hope to build the T-33 in Turkish colors soon. Thank you my friend, let's see if I can build your repaint of the J-3 Cub correctly. |

We are back! With some advances in the construction of the Ju-88, which I am working on in a subsidiary way, I left my efforts this past weekend to work on the Vampire.

Here we have the construction sequence of the vampire, this is the second one I built (the first was a T-11 from FAM, made last year). It is a model of intermediate difficulty, the greatest difficulty lies in building the central section of the wing, which I recommend doing in stages and the tail arms, their adjustment and alignment also requires a certain amount of meticulousness.

My physical Vampire bibliography is limited, I only have the old profile Nº48 (which only deals with the fighter-bomber versions from the Mk-5 onwards) and the excellent Warpaint. I intend to buy another book that I saw on Amazon as soon as the logistics situation here in the state normalizes.
Talking about our subject and also connected to the book I'm reading that I mentioned a few posts ago, let's talk about the Dominican Vampires Sweden retired their F.1 / J 28A Vampires in 1953 and searched around for a buyer. The Dominican Republic took them up on the deal, obtained 25 J 28As, which were delivered in 1956. Although the US pressured the Dominican Republic to "buy American", the Vampire seemed well-suited to their needs, and so the little country bought 17 more Vampires from Sweden, this time in the form of the much better FB.50 / J 28B, with deliveries in 1957. Dominican Vampires fought against a landing of Cuban-backed insurgents in 1959, and also saw combat in a civil war in 1965. All the Dominican Vampires were finally withdrawn from service in the early 1970s. Who knows, maybe our talented repainters will make the FB-50 version? |
