Excellent Fifties Fighters.

I have struggled with F-84s in the past and will make you of your excellent images of your builds the next time I try.

Great looking F-84. Not many people know that F-84 jets became truly international fighters a fair bit before Mig-15 outnumbered it.It was flown in many hot zones too, most notably Taiwan straits.

Is a fact Karol, is my intent in the future make more Thunderjets, like Portugal, Turkey, Thailand and others, in fact this plane is make more action then F-80, and is a curious fact not use in Latin America...

Well friends!

Summarizing our Hellenic mini-project, we go to the second F-84, this time the F version with flared wings. Again the model without any construction difficulties. The part that involves a little more construction difficulty is the backbone and the canopy, which are one set. The landing gears are fragile and need to be reinforced. My option is to use drops of cyanocrylate glue on the legs to make them stiff.

With the legs glued, it was the turn of the disposable tanks and a good layer of spray varnish.

The model was built straight from the sheet with the usual modifications: lamination of the internal wing formers with 320gsm paper and lamination of the landing gear wheels with 300gsm and 400gsm cardboard for the main landing gear.

The F-84F is one of Bruno's new models from the series of revisions he has made on his second generation models. The catalog number of the F-84F of the Helenic Air Force is # 3593.

Smile Brothers in Arms

Here the F-84G Thunderjet and the F-84F Thunderstreak. Despite being considered a version of the straight-wing aircraft the F-84F is actually a new aircraft. The sizes are similar although the Thunderstreak is a bigger and more robust aircraft. Due to the lack of power, the Thunderjet was called Groundhog and the Thunderstrak was Superhog. The Greek flag on the nose of the winged-wing aircraft was an additional identification mark to differentiate in flight from the Turkish F-84Fs, as Turkey and Greece developed a local cold war after World War II (sometimes not so much).
