Sorry for the absence these days. In the south of Brazil we are having an extraordinary heat wave, together with a terrible drought, which is causing many inconveniences, such as overloading the electrical system. As my modeling space doesn't have air conditioning, I haven't done much these days, for you to have an idea, the early mornings have been 30ºC(86F) and the day starts at 32ºC (89.6F). The thermic sensation is around 46ºC (114,8F). In Uruguay and Argentina, which border my state, the situation is desperate because that is the center of the heat bubble with a temp gradient in very high values above 41ºC (107F) that is installed in center of South America.
However, despite it being melting, I started work on the second Brewster F2A3, this time a Brent model, characterized by incredible textures. The model has some different approaches compared to the previous one I built at the end of the year. But I don't expect great differences or difficulties. In the photos we see the initial work. Even if this infernal heat wasn't enough, a gigantic wave of contamination by the Omicron variant of COVID 19. We will survive, I hope. |

Back tu business beside the hot temp...
Well friends.
Construction summary. The works are very slow due to the brutal heat that is in my state here in the southern region of Brazil. The disturbances range from extreme heat, overload of the electrical system, forest fires, all associated with a severe drought the largest in 50 years. This heat causes storms and downbursts on top of that that do nothing to ease and bring great damage, a very difficult situation. The construction of Buffalo is going slowly but I hope to finish it tonight. |

The Buffalo looks great.
I a sorry to hear about the heat wave. The temperature in Carlisle this morning was 12 degrees F (roughly -11 C). Don |

A little envy my friend! We are experiencing more or less a heat wave similar to what Canada and the United States experienced last year, the craziest thing is that the heat bubble is holding back with an atmospheric blockade the rain in Argentina and Uruguay and at the same time in the Southeast region of Brazil we have excessive rain promoting floods, it is the global warming caused by man. With this heat works on models only at dawn when the heat dissipates a little.

Despite the severe and prolonged heat wave here. I finished the excellent Brewster F2A3 Buffalo repainted and modified by Brent. The model has some improvements compared to Bruno's second generation original model, including an optional segmentation of the cownling, giving a more correct and precise format in relation to the real plane, in addition to this modification he created the possibility of leaving the flaps open and highlighted the fairing of the back of the wings as well as their ammunition safes. The model represents a VMF-221 plane, like the previous one I made of Rata. Brent opted for an absolutely worn paint job showing the repainting and displacement of these planes from other units to the defense of the Midway naval air base.
This model is based on Buffalo No. 730 from Bruno's catalog and more photos and information on the Battle Of Midway models project |
