This is not yet what I intend to show here, but it is equally rare. I set aside to build on Sunday, but the late summer heat in the southern cone of South America is awful! Especially in Argentina and Uruguay, neighboring countries to my state (which is the southernmost in Brazil).

In the middle of the road is the Curtiss-Wright SNC-1 Falcon, a trainer derived from the light fighter CW-16 Demon, the export versions were widely used in Latin America between the 40s and 60s.

My expectative is finish tomorrow.

I have long been interested in this series of C-W aircraft and am interested in these builds.

Thanks my friends!

Bruno, for me this model is one of the many gems you designed, complemented by the wonderful repaints that Rata did. The wing fairings work very well, fitting perfectly.

Now model finished.

The Curtiss-Wright SNC-1 Falcon is one member of a family of multipurpose military aircraft developed in the 1940s as trainers, "convoy fighters", light ground attack aircraft and light fighters. Originally designed as a civilian aircraft (CW-19), it was quickly adopted by the US Navy through the CW-22 version with retractable landing gear, for advanced training. Curtiss sold some units of the CW 19/20/21 versions some to Ecuador, Cuba, Bolivia and Turkey before the war. In addition to the Dutch Colonial Government who used them unsuccessfully against the Japanese during the invasion of Indonesia in 1942. The Chinese Nationalists used the fighter version, but any operational record in Chinese hands is unknown.

The model was built without major modifications or additions, the only thing we added was the antenna cable and the vertical rudder mast. Ahh I painted propellers tips too.

The SNC-1 in US Navy colors is number #3762 in the catalog. A highly recommended model.
