Continuing with Ouragan, I prepared the construction of the fuselage by installing the exhaust fan and the air intake with its diffuser that had been previously built. We added a small ballast made with hunting pellet spheres.

The canopy was also carefully installed.

We install the wings observing the slight dihedral that exists in the real plane.

Very nice Ouragan. At one point I was considering making Yoav's Ouragan because it's absolutely magnificent model of good looking early jet and it's imho simplest of Yoav's models. of course I chickened out lol.

I'm glad to see one in small scale. I heard Nobi did one ages ago but I've never seen it made or for sale.

Thank you Karol.

In fact the Ouragan is a very interesting plane and this is the fourth in my collection. Nobi actually has this model in its "warbirds" collection in 1/48 scale. In the first version of the Ecardmodels store this and other models were listed, but now that it is active on the forum again, who knows, maybe he will read this conversation and put the model back online. I have this Ouragan which is exactly this model and I can say that it is another highly qualified one like Yoav's, although simpler.

Bruno's Ouragan is one of my favorite models, efficient design, simple assembly, a good end result, I really like it.

I don't remember having already written anything about the MD 450, but quickly, the Ouragan (hurricane in French), was the first jet fighter aircraft designed in France after the war, marking the return of the French aeronautical industry, in addition to being the first mass-produced Dassault Aviation (Former Avions Marcel Bloch) product. The MD 450 was designed as an ascending interceptor, using the knowledge already accumulated from the beginning of the jet age, its design has a strong English influence, as the engine was a copy produced under license from Rolls Royce Nene.

Designed in 1947 and put into service in France in 1950, the Ouragan was briefly in first line service in France, soon replaced by the Mystere IIC and the Mystere IV in the mid-1950s. But it was extensively used by Israel and India, both countries using it in combat, especially in ground attacks, as the Ouragan had lower performance than the MiG-15 and F-86 Sabre. The Israelis were by far the ones who used the plane most in combat and were enthusiastic about it, and there are records of at least one MiG-15 being shot down in the 1956 War. Out of operation in India and France in the 1960s (although in this In the last country the Ouragan was used for the development of a series of variants), the Israelis still used it in the 1967 war and later stockpiled them and sold the surviving planes to El Salvador.

Here in the thread we have two French examples built (2017 and 2018) and one from El Salvador (made in 2021 if I'm not mistaken), just take a look.

It certainly was a classic among 1950s jet fighters.

I appreciate all the historical information.

Last Thursday, we had the traditional CCCP meeting, between plastic modeling and review of new models that arrived in the mail and other "stuff", I practically finished the Me-109E-4 (one of the many flown by the great ace Adolf Galland), repainted by Rata. Garry used the instructions from old Hasegawa 1/72 plastic kits as inspiration, pure nostalgia for me and him, as we assembled the same model as teenagers.

The finishing and completion of the model will be done here at home today, and I have already selected the next pair to be executed in the CCCP workshop.

Good to see one of my repaints getting some interest Pericles. As you say, a real modelling nostalgia trip! Couple of things not so obvious on this one is I also modified the canopy and wheel hubs.

My friend, thank you very much for carrying out this repaint.

In fact, I'm always interested in all your repaints and mods.

The modifications were excellent, in the end I have a small standout model in my collection.

Saturday afternoon was quite productive, as I managed to finish building the Ouragan and the Me-109.

In the Me-109 we covered all the white corners and the Ouragan had its general construction completed.
