Hello friends! We returned with the construction of the Petlyakov Pe-2. On Friday night I completed the general construction and installed a nacelle.
Regarding the issue of the turret raised by Karol, I looked into the matter and I think the best solution was to use a spherical metal former to round the roof. It was not identical to the original, but quite acceptable. As I'm not a rivet counter, this resolved the issue for me. My expectation is to finish Pe-2 this weekend. |

I am glad you do not succumb to the rivet counter philosophy. We try to be as accurate as our abilities allow, but a small contour out of place or gods forbid an errant panel line is A OK to me. Satisfy yourself.
Well after all that the build is looking great. I like the list and sources you cited for the aircraft you have built. It serves as a great reference for those who like those particular aircraft. Cheers 2025! |

Neat Pe-2 Péricles! Going together nicely.
I'm going to have to check Bruno's old catalogue to see if he ever did a Tupolev Tu-2.

Very good result Pericles.
Regarding turret ,it's not a matter of counting rivets (I find it annoying) but that turret could have been designed as a truncated cone and effect would be dramatically better. Bruno is a master of making complicated shapes simple but sometimes he goes lazy haha. Don't we all? |

Thank you very much my friends!
Karol, my intention was not to offend with my observation, forgive my friend! I meant to say that if I can manage to make it look pleasing to the eye, I will already feel satisfied, although I think that as Ted said, the important thing is to have fun. These new series based on old models have been great fun for me. The Pe-2 is almost ready, but along with it I will show off a surprise that is halfway to completion. In addition to this simplicity that reminds me of classical music from the Baroque period (music with complex melodies with few musical notes), the speed of the quality drawing impressed me from the beginning. |

Well friends!
The Pe-2 model is almost complete, there are some extra details missing that I will add such as the gun barrels on the turrets and antenna with cables and masts, this model was a great pleasure to build and I highlight it in this new series of redesigns that Bruno has accomplished, On Friday night and Saturday I practically built all the elements offered in the kit, the model is fun and simple to build, in addition to these details already mentioned, there are still some painting touch-up elements and the varnish coating to consider finished. |

On Sunday after lunch, while the wife watched a musical on TV I quickly built the Polikarpov I-16 Type 24 repainted by Rata. Garry modified the wing fillets a little, making the construction simpler. This was almost a model built in just one day, anyway maybe tonight I'll be able to finish it.

Pe-2 turned out nice and good luck with the little I-16 too!
