Neat little Cessna Péricles!
Hoping Brazilians affected by this flood get their lives back to some normality quickly. But you're right about it staying in people's minds. I wasn't here in Brisbane when it suffered it's worst flooding ever before or since in 1974 but my wife was. She's never forgotten it.

Thank you my friend!
Still on the issue of floods, those who go through them really don't forget. The last major flood here happened in 1941. (Until the construction of the dam and the Mauá Avenue Wall that surrounds the peninsula of the Central District of Porto Alegre in 1969, other floods of smaller proportions occurred) So few people nowadays who experienced it are still alive. But its collective memory was forgotten, until this catastrophe reactivated it. I leave another photo of the central region of Porto Alegre from 15 days ago seen from the South. The water has already receded. Luckily, this region has a ridge that geographers call the central hills. That kept the upper part isolated from the flood. In the photo, what is underneath the water is a huge ring road. Tomorrow I should start Stinson L-1 and move on to the next mini-series. |
