I have always loved the Dakota - for me it is just a special plane. Sturdy, reliable and it flies regardless.......

I have also been lucky enough to see them in action in anger in the late 70's and even managed to wrangle quite a few flights in them on Ops. Since then, except for one last flight in the mid 80's, sadly no more flights, and they are now increasingly rare with operating Daks becoming few and far between.

That's a lot of fascinating informations and your memories, Kevin. Like I said in the beginning, DC-3 is a real icon of the aviation. Without a doubt.
