I wonder if any Luftwaffe pilots REALLY would have willingly 'volunteered' to fly one of these little killers?
I read that the Fieseler Fi.103 (manned V-1 doodle bug) project was given the official go-ahead as viable because completing an actual mission offered the pilot ''a slim chance of survival''. Fortunately common sense prevailed and the thing was cancelled but still scary stuff.
