S&P 1/100 A-4G Skyhawk R.A.N.

Australia acquired 8 A-4G and 2 TA-4G in 1967, mainly for use on our only carrier; HMAS Melbourne. Like everywhere else in the world A-4's have served,
they gave sterling service to the RAN. 10 were lost in crashes over the years- some of them because of Melbourne's catapult failing to launch with sufficient airspeed. After Melbourne's decommissioning in 1982, the remaining 10 were sold to New Zealand.
Had some self inflicted problems with the intakes (I know what to do on my next S&P Skyhawk); and because of the constant handling suffered some colour fading ( I really NEED to get some protective spray). Rolling the refuelling probe was a task and a half, not helped by the fact that RAN Scooters had the kinked one. Bending just produced an ugly 'knuckle', so I just ended up cutting and rejoining with the appropriate bends- doesn't look too bad after touching up with suitable paint which I also used on the areas that I'd rubbed off.

Anyway, this certainly won't be the last of Bruno's Skyhawks that I'll build- there's so many of them!

Looks absolutely great. Jets are often more complex and that's visible.
I see that you colored the edges.

You've done a very nice work model.
So small and so accurate.

I like it.
