Stabilizers

Ahoy
Last update for the day moving on to something else next I will post it here on the forum another card kit. Okay I got her tail feathers on a lot of you fellas noticed the fin was on wrong Nope I dry fitted it and check to see any adjustments then it was glued down in its correct setting. Okay in general this kit is rougher then a cobb, The fit of parts are not that keen a lot of cutting here and there. Thee kit is ancient all hand drawn o there is a human element there. Okay next I will move to the cockpit aand details the cockpit leaves a lot to desire there might be some scratch building here but will see. As of now letting her dry over night and give it a good burnishing to smooth things out.

Wing construction and spars

Ahoy
Here is another update on the scooter thus far got her wings on so she can hunt for the heavens. The kit is almost done in her entirety with exception of a few parts that will complete the build, The wing and their assembly produced no problems I reinforced the trailing edge of the wings to keep them from curling like they all do I noticed that in some of my builds the trailing edges are curling up so I beat the problem by adding cardboard inside the trailing edge thus far the problem is over. I should have this wrapped up by Sunday. Get started on the Frogfoot SU39

Letting the unit dry over night and smooth out the build with another burnishing a coat of Krylon clear

You do turn out the most beautiful, and beautifully finished, models Boats. A large part is due to all the burnishing you do but there's something else I can't quite put my finger on. Whatever it is, Rock on man!

Ahoy Elliot
Thank you buddy for the reply I am honored, I am always critical of my work kind of a perfectionist I always been that way when I labor on models my job or just life in general. most of the time when I take pictures of the build process I see flaws and wondered how I over looked them. So I tear it out and start over and re check . thanks Elliot for tuning in I am honored.

Parts assembly

Ahoy
Time for another update build report, she is coming along swiftly now most of the plane has been built. On the coming photos of the build fairings on the fuselage sides were formed and installed, next I moved to the 20mm cannon on the inboard leading edge of the wings. The two cannons are formed and glued in position. Next turned her over formed and glued down the landing gear fairings and gear doors a lot to desire to the detail of these parts since this kit is ancient it is what you expect in this quality of the printing. Starting to get use to the experimental camo but you got to roll with the flow with these things.

Letting these units dry over night next give it a good burnishing here and there and time for her legs and the ordnance lastly the cockpit and canopy assemblies. kits is rougher then a cobb in some assembly steps trimming is required. a common head sometimes on these old designs that were hand drawn thank god for cad printings now days they build themselves should have the scooter done this Sunday and I will break out the Frogfoot SU39

Landing gear assemblies

Ahoy paperwrights

another update here thus far heading for the downhill slide of completing the scooter. Okay starting on the undercarriage here I am on my own I forgot to mention the instructions in this kit are terrible there are diagrams on the assembly of the cockpit and landing gear, so your pretty much on your own I have a Hasegawa 1/32 plastic kit of the A4D I use that kit for reference on the assembly of the landing gear the cockpit will not be that hard easy to figure out.

In general I don't like the kit but it needed to be built since Iam going to jets now. The SU39 looks miles superior to this old kit. I should have this wrapped up by tomorrow evening I will post the final reveal.

Under carriage completed

Ahoy Paper Wrights

update build report she is standing proud on her legs now, spent time getting the landing gear assembled I used my plastic kit as reference close but no cigar. This kit is terrible lacking a lot of detail that could be printed on this kit judging the parts and its assembly its a elementary kit in design but still looks good. all is left is assembly of the canopy and ordnance and she ready for the final reveal.
