My First THAI Paperwork Model Pilatus PC-7
Tryin to get back in the swing of things Thought I'd try a Thai Paperwork model I've had for sometime. The Pilatus PC-7 at 1/48 scale.
In addition to the clear canopy, other modifications from the plans: a scratch cockpit interior. Main land gear wheels, wooden buttons. Nose wheel painted plastic button. Exaust pipes Elbow Macaroni The clear canopy is the forth try. Still didn't come out right the only thing I'm unhappy about. Still worken on another one. I wonder if this is the one that "Sarah Palen" went wolf hunting in I see I got the tail on crooked too _________________

It's a beauty, Bob! You really have the touch. The tail looks okay in the photo.

Looks fine to me. I have started that one twice and screwed it up both times. You have inspired me to try again!

Thanks for the kind remarks guys As always for the canopy I used clear 2" packing tape. The real problem is the plans for the canopy was in 6 different sections intended to be connected together with glue strips which would work fine for the paper canopy but not quite so well when trying to do the clear canopy. I also discovered that the opening in the fuselage for the canopy was exactly the same size as the canopy with no overhang which added to the problem as how to attach it. I tried several different methods with the tape with little success. The one on the model is the best result. I have a couple other idea to try. If those fail I think I have found another canopy that will fit just fine while not exactly like the intended one:o I'm also trying to find out how the actual canopy opened on the real Pilatus PC-7

That's a great plane! Mistakes really do not show up in photos so don't worry. Besides, that's what makes paper better than P******, they look real!

Hi Bob,
Your Pilatus is wonderful! The found: Elbow Macaroni exhaust pipes, is very original. I love the transparencies for the canopy and I had your same problems. The areas of support for transparencies are too narrow and fail to support them (given the strong mechanical stress exerted by large transparent areas). Orazio |
