N661US Paper Model (based off of K. Kiyonaga's Iron Maiden 747-400 Model)
Hey Guys.
I have been wanting to make a model of the Delta 747-400 N661US. However, I don't have the proper resources nor do I know how I'd be able to do it. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me make a dream come true for me. I would like to make a cardstock model of N661US. I will post links for the resources that you guys can use. If you guys could make it look exactly like it (including using the same fonts, same logos, same colors, and same design), I would greatly and gladly appreciate it. If any of you are able to do this, please message me. If not, do you guys have any suggestions on how to make a paper model with a reskin? I hope that you are all doing well and I hope you have a great day. Take care everyone! Links: Iron Maiden Model File: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14nX...rtJG_C0qZ/view Delta Airlines Colors: https://www.schemecolor.com/delta-ai...ogo-colors.php Delta Logo and SkyTeam Logo are attached. I don't know what font they use for the N-Registration and the number on the vertical stabilizer and the nose landing gear doors, but if you guys could figure that out, that would be great. |

All US operated aircraft are registered using the N prefix. The FAA mandates the N number on the fuselage. In addition, the number ( or part of it ) is repeated on the nose gear doors. This allows the ground crew to recognize the aircraft from the front. So when it is pushed back or towed, they know they have the correct aircraft. The numbers are sometimes repeated on the tail as well for easy recognition from the back. Isaac

I don't know why, though, that they have the N-registration as N661US but have "6301" on the nose gear doors and on the top of the tail. They even call it "Ship 6301."

Not sure which aircraft you are talking about. See if you can attach the photos. If you are referring to the kit, it is most likely in error.
The registration number last digits must match the door numbers . Otherwise it is confusing Isaac

Registrations
So we know that the plane's registration is N661US, but they also have other numbers. N661US, for instance, is also called "Ship 6301". It's listed on the nose landing gear doors and on the front tip of the tail.

I see what you mean. However, the only explanation I can come up with ( and I do not know for sure ), is that the aircraft registration number must have changed.
Delta operated the B747-100 very early on and then only short time. Then when they merged with Northwest, they got the NW B-747-400 ( I think they are all phased out now ). Maybe there is some retro reason there, or Boeing production number. here is info from the Delta museum: https://www.deltamuseum.org/exhibits...boeing-747-400 Anyhow, this is the end of my involvement here. Good luck Isaac
