Thanks for the warning about the joiner strips, Zenon. All your work looks very good.
By coincidence, I recently read an account of the capture of Nadzab in 1943 (a year before your Vengeance I was based there): John D. Poole, Jungle Skippers: The 317th Troop Carrier Group in the Southwest Pacific and Their Legacy, available at https://media.defense.gov/2017/Sep/0...E_SKIPPERS.PDF There is nothing in this book about A-35s, but it provides a detailed account of USAAF air mobility and sustainment operations in New Guinea in 1942 and 1943, including air logistic support for the Wau and Nadzab campaigns. Thanks for the link, Don.
Today some photos of my work on the cockpit. So far, all parts fit very good. Also, I'd like to to say one more thing related to my previous post. If you use your own joiner strips, remember to grind the internal frames little more than usual.

Here's the new report.
Model can be done with positionable ailerons, elevators and rudder. What's more, you can choose one of a few variants of canopy and do an opened bomb bay(bombs are also included in the kit). It's a pretty interesting idea to build this aircraft with everything what is possible opened but in my opinion it only works if you want to use it in diorama. My airplane will be built as a "classic version", without all those optional details. Some parts visible in the photos are only dry-attached, not glued yet.

This kit looks like a tough nut to crack... very intimidating.

I'm working on some smaller details, like landing gear and the canopy. They take more time and need more patience so that's why the progress is much slower now.

smaller details often make or break a build... work slow but with confidence! me I just avoid them all together.
