OK . I have been a Fortress fanatic since watching 12 O'Clock High on TV, so I am going to make my pitch for a couple of Forts I would like to see-- "Thunderbird" from the 303d BG and ""2d Patches" from the 99th BG. I hope you will consider doing them at some point...thank you.

The second group of Fortresses is a later-type version of the B-17E with a Sperry ball turret under the fuselage. Coincidentally, all aircraft are from the PTO, specifically the Solomon Islands campaign.
They are: - Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress (USAAF, 63. BS, 43. BG, Cpt. Don Mainwaring, Jackson AB, New Guinea, Battle of Bismarck Sea, 2.- 4.3.1943) - Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress (USAAF, 64. BS, 43. BG, Mjr. Paul I. Williams, Jackson AB, New Guinea, Battle of Bismarck Sea, 2.- 4.3.1943) - Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress (USAAF, 65. BS, 43. BG, 1.Lt. Hal C. Winfrey., Garbutt Field AB, Australia, December 1942) - Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress (USAAF, 394. BS, 5. BG, Lt. Roy Davenport, Palikulo Bay AB, Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides, January 1943)

So after a few days, I finished my fight with the B-17F version. Victoriously, of course. The following versions are waiting to take off:
- Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress (USAAF, 322. BS, 91. BG, 2.Lt. Wayne A. Murdock, Bassingbourn AB, England, August 1943) - Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress (USAAF, 324. BS, 91. BG, Cpt. Robert Morgan, Bassingbourn AB, England, May 1943) - Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress (USAAF, 333. BS, 94. BG, Lt. William S. Winneshiek, Rougham AB, England, October 1943) - Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress (USAAF, 510. BS, 351. BG, Polebrook AB, England, February 1944) - Boeing Fortress Mk.III (RAF, Coastal Command, 220. Met. Sqn., Reykjavík AB, autumn 1944) I'm sure you've noticed the legendary Memphis Belle - the real one, of course, not the movie one ....

And here is the first part of the G version - planes with the older rear turret and not repositioned side gunner windows. These are the versions: - Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (USAAF, 322. BS, 91. BG, Lt. James F. Purdy, Bassingbourn AB, England, April 1944) - Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (USAAF, 360. BS, 303. BG, 2.Lt. John A. Matheson, Molesworth AB, England, September 1944) - Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (USAAF, 401. BS, 91. BG, Bassingbourn AB, England, July 1944) - Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (USAAF, 401. BS, 91. BG, Lt. Bob Guenther, Bassingbourn AB, England, May 1944) - Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (USAAF, 772. BS, 463. BG, Lt. James L. Jarmon, Celone AB, Italy, October 1944)
