Well my friends!
Here the update in the build, all parts are close to complete, missing a frontal parts of fuselage, the construction of elements not have nay surprise, only in cockpit I replace tabs for gluing straps. After gluing fuselage (one of more complex I have for small size of aviation) I make a main build... Until the next update... |

Last week the fuselage was completed, although complex, it did not present any construction difficulties, with everything fitting perfectly.
I ended up forgetting to photograph the landing gear assembly and the lower wing, I apologize for that but it typically followed the processes of all Aaron's models: a volumetric bar with the only difference that this time provided a profile of the wing wing to be glued to the fuselage to aid gluing. The landing gear was glued without the aid of the jig and later I explain why. In the photos you can see the construction process of the upper wing, it starts with the central section which is actually a fuel lock, in this case because of the small scale, I didn't use the formers described before, but for the original scale, I think it will work very well. Thanks Don!
Time to show another advances on build. In the photos you can already see the use of the jig. But first a description of these steps. It is strongly recommended to install the central struts on the top wing before anything, I do not recommend installing them on the fuselage, the work is made easier because they are at a 90 ° angle to the plane of the wing. I took advantage of the jig and installed the arms of the horizontal stabilizers, And that's what I want to talk about in relation to the jig. It works well for its main task which is to rest the model and upper wing to perform the bonding of the struts between the wings, however as an aid for the bonding of the landing gear and stabilizers it does not work because of the small adjustment area and collage, the ideal and the suggestion for Aaron is to make two jigs one for the wings and the other for the global assembly of the model. |

Thank's Birder! is the purpose of the thread
I worked this late afternoon and early evening in Brazil on the flight cables, I used broom hairs, which were selected in the appropriate thickness and glued with CA glue. For a 1920s plane, the Giant Moth has few cables, they are concentrated between the interplanes in addition to the tail control cables. Continue... |
