ThaiPaperWorks F8 Crusader

ThaiPaperWorks 1:32 F8U Crusader. I recolored this to represent a specific aircraft (F8U-2/F-8C BuNo. 146959, DN13 of VMF-333) for a club cold war build. Stationed at Guantanamo Bay in 1964, DN13 may have been shot down and the pilot killed (antagonist unknown). Given the international tensions at the time, it was listed only as "crashed".
Fuselage finished, on to the wings!

Now with feathers!

Managed to get the wings and tailplanes attached. Onward to all those easily-knocked-off fiddly bits. And...maybe on to a printer that can actually print Light Gull Gray without streaks.

Finished ... for now

This was, essentially, a test build. I see many places where my assembly can be better. I also see a bunch of things that need tweeking, like creating a complete cockpit and some believable wheel wells. Also, since I'm not a fan of butt joints for attaching structural items, I need to engineer a sturdy landing gear, and maybe a pivoting tailplane. I would also like to do a wing-fold and a raised wing. Nobi did a great job getting the basic shape; I just need to bump it up to the next level.
BTW, that shiney silver thing is a one foot (30.5cm)ruler. This dude is impressively huge!

Exclamation Hobby Model 66 crusader

Years ago, I built the Hobby Model version of the Crusader.
F-8 Crusader.PDF

You may use its landing gear and interior as well as the missiles if you wish.

Here is my built model
