I had a bit of free time and decided to publish a combo of the three civilians Stranraers that I have done.
They will be uploaded today and will be ready to download in ecardmodels in a few days.
So enjoy!

Today ecardmodels.com has released the civilian Stranraers combos, 1/72 and 1/33 scales.
I have seen that the "combos" (three or more planes sold together) are requested by you modelers. SO I'm trying to release both the individual models and the combos at a lower price.
Anyway, enjoy!

Found this picture in facebook, at first I believed it was a new version, but the black on the engines are just covers

After so many years I'm still toying with the Stranraer.
Recently I found a picture with underwing pods, that were used for fuel and other uses.
So it's very possible that I'll be releasing that external pods soon.

Another posibility is that I could do a revision of the paper model in all their versions, decreasing the contrast of the rivets and replacing the sky color of the windows with an almost black tone.

What do you think?

The toned down rivets look better. From scale viewing distance, they are hardly visible on real aircraft unless in strong light (like in, ahem, museums which is where they are often photographed). If I look at my pictures of the silver Stranraer at Hendon, I can see the rivets from standing about 2m away. At 10m they are faint even in lighted areas and disappear in the shadows, in fact the wrinkles in the skin are more prominant as highlights. On dark painted aircraft they are even less visible - the Bf110 and Thunderbolt almost invisible. A lot of models have far too strong and dark panel lines or in the case of plastic models, are over-lined with dark washes.

There are occasional howlers like Hawker Hurricanes with rivet lines extending over the fabric rear or on Soviet wooden aircraft...!

This weekend should be ready to be downloaded from ecardmodels the first upgraded version of my Supermarine Stranraer. The changes are:
Improved skin with softened, more realistic paneling
Darkened windows
Another extra sheet of instructions with step by step assembly like the Do-24 has.
This first model is K7289 from the 209 Sqn. You can compare it with the FY B that still hasn't been upgraded.
Updated: Included part of the new instructions

Well, the new model 1/72 scale is finished, I'm starting with scale 1/100.
Sadly the instructions are making me loose more time than I expected.
If somebody wants the model with then original plus the unfinished second sheet of instructions and can't wait, you can send me a message.
The good news (for me) is that once the instructions are finished they are the same for all the models (except the propellers that can be three or four blades)

Ecardmodel has released the new version of the Supermarine Stranraer in 1/100, 1/72 and 1/33.
Not only is a new plane, the colors, windows and instructions are improved too.
Meanwhile I'm starting to paint the 937 that has a complete new paint scheme in a Stranraer, being 4 colors on the upper and side surfaces, and Sky by the undersides.
This four colors scheme is the same that I'm appliying to my Sea Otter, so you can have an idea of the final result.
And other scheme more, silver and black with red arrows by the sides.
So, enjoy the K7289 and wait for more Stranraers!
