Fitter Models' SE5a from ecardmodels.com

Hey gang, I am rather new to building planes out of cardstock but I am taking on the challenge of Fitter Models SE5a.

I got the first half the fuselage done for my 1/33 Fitter's models SE5A that I got off of ecardmodels.com. It was $7 to download so if you mess up you can just reprint the parts. I printed some of the sheets on cardstock and glued them with Elmer's white glue on to 1/32 balsa. I initially glued them to 1/16 but that was too much. I wonder what kind of effect I'd get gluing them to cardboard. Everyone has cardboard that they discard but I sorta like the sheet cardboard you can purchase to ship photos and other things which must remain flat. The kit is coming along pretty good so far but I just got started. I plan to keep notes on what is wrong with it and what is good about it and pass them along to Fitters. Hopefully I won't ruffle any feathers in the process.

I use (like a lot of other guys) the cardboard from cereal boxes. Just get a glue stick and adhere the part to it and cut it out after it dries. If you need thicker, you just laminate another piece. I have access to lots of card stock for signs and matt boards and it is usually difficult to cut by hand. Another advantage to the cereal box is it has no grain.

Finished the second half of the fuselage and started on the cockpit.
