1/32 Curtiss P-40M Warhawk
I've started another WWII plane, an iconic one, Curtiss P-40M Warhawk.
This is a digital kit from Zarkov, 1/32 scale. You can get it here: Curtiss P-40 M Kittyhawk by Emil Zarkov :: ModelArt :: Card Models :: ZarkovModels Store So far, the model seems to be perfectly designed. Formers fit perfectly, textures look great when laser printed... Everything is very promising. Now let's talk about the history of this plane. My grandson tells me it's either from CBI theater, most likely, or Pacific theater, 1943-1945 period. There's no information about the unit in the model's description and we were also unable to identify it on our own. Polish fighter ace Witold Urbanowicz flew a very similar aircraft but with 188 on the tail. He was in 75th FS(23rd FG). Maybe it's the same unit? Jan J. Safarik: Air Aces Home Page By the way, the kit calls this plane Kittyhawk but I'll use Warhawk name as it's the correct one for the aircraft used in USAAF.

More progress on Warhawk...
Many parts are only dry-attached, not glued yet, not finished in 100%. As you can see, I'm adding my own improvements like the corks in the wings. These will later help to keep the landing gear in position(the needles will go through). In the future updates you'll see what I mean if the description is not clear enough.

Another beautiful airplane!
I have this kit is both 1/72 and 1/33 and hope to build one some day. I am saving your build thread as a reference. Most of the P-40Ms assigned to the 23rd Fighter Group in China were in olive drab and neutral gray, but to my eye, this brown-green-sky color scheme is much better looking. Don |

I am currently building a P40C by Paper AircraftWerks, it is interesting to see the designer's different approach to the construction of the basic model.

I did some more work on P-40 so it's time for a new update.
Actually, there's nothing else to say. No problems, no difficulties, etc. Everything goes really nicely. Mike, I have that P-40C from Paper AircraftWerks too. I haven't built it yet but I hope to do that one day. However, three years ago I posted here another P-40. It's one of my older models but I still have it. Curtiss P-40 Warhawk ''Aleutian Tiger'' And I've almost forgotten. Once again this:

Today is the last update. Model is almost finished.
It's a really great kit, perfectly designed, without any flaws. Good for relax and also very enjoyable. And because of that, once again, there's nothing else to say. No problems with the assembly, nothing. That's all I can say. Photos should do the rest. Today I can also confirm that I'll build two more P-40s from the same kit. Both will be my grandson's repaints. I asked him to do a Witold Urbanowicz's plane but he also did a RAAF version, serial A29-189.
