DC-2 from "Murphs-models"; rescaled to 1:33 - SP- ASK
Before rescaling Murphy’s (Lufthansa) model, I need something solid in front of my eyes (I’m not an engineer), that’s why I built the original model first. After the conversion is done, my grandson will get that model to play with…
This is my first model from Murphy, therefore building it was a bit „strange”; there are very few ribs, basically only for every second segment of the fuselage, and the connecting straps are just as few. I made the missing ribs myself. The 1:57 scale specified by the author isn’t right, based on my measurements of the finished model, it should be 1:48. Or is it the fault of the printer setting? Seems kinda unlikely, though. And this is how the finished model looks like at 1:48 - I didn’t make too great an effort there, it’s possible to be much more precise of course. |

When I started building this model in February, the papermodelers.com website wasn't available for model builders in Germany and France, so I couldn't show the building process here, as I had intended. When the forum was unblocked, the build was already so advanced that I've decided to publish only the final photo gallery of the finished model. I'd like to thank Butelczynski you for sharing the many materials related to the original airplane.

Thanks Butelczynski!
This is a „silver“ paper, 200 g/m². Hi Meteor, Not sure if you received my private message (there's no confirmation, and I can't seem to find my way around this forum too well yet), so here's my reply once again: Thank you for your praise and all the best. I hope you're also in good health and well. I made the landing gear myself based on photos I found on the web. |

Very nice work. Did you do an interior too? An amazing amount of detailing added to the kit. The silver paper adds a nice touch to the model too.
Congratulations! Gary
