Wow, Sergio, those are really nice. Gerard's models really are something special, I know. And not the easiest. I hope to see more coming but I also love to see the build reports, also because they're not always easy.
I have always been intrigued how he managed to right-measure pictures of planes in an angle and then still could create quite an accurate model. He was of course a surveyor, so he was an expert in measuring stuff but to take in account lens distortions, perspective an all of those things, wondrous. He wrote about these quests extensively on his blog. Up until now I have built his FH Phantom, the Whirlwind, and a very much altered F-27 Friendship. I plan to build Gerard's Fokker S-11 in the near future. With a thread like this we'll keep his memory alive. |

Thank you very much everyone.
Pericles, I like the idea of putting Gerard's designs for everyone, I'll let a few days pass and ask the family for their opinion. Some time ago Gerard was thinking of releasing his designs again. If the family authorizes it, it would be great Miguel, here are the links to the threads, as I am a caveman in this technological subject I hope this is good🙄 M-262 nice model by Gerard Methorst Fokker DVII,1/50,by Gerard Methorst Lockheed T 33 "Shooting Star" by Gerard Methorst Fokker Dr.1,by Gerard Methorst D.H. 82 Tiger Moth,by Gerard Methorst |

Gerard's Do-24K was one of the most fun to build and looks impressive - it's not easy.

I tried getting that I-153 from Gerrard but all 3 copies I got had compression issues and were corrupted.Worst of all it was locked so I couldn't even correct very visible problems that could have been easily dealt with.We had a slight disagreement over that.Water under the bridge now.
Fokker T.V ,F27 Friendship are two models I'm hoping Bruno will do in 1:100.Fokkers in general are very underappreciated planes in modeling. |

Greetings. Continuing my humble tribute to Gerard here is his version of the famous Japanese A6M2 Zero.
The design is great, in 1/50, as I always change some parts of the process to adapt it to my way of building, I usually eliminate several formers, I add tabs etc. This model has some photographic textures that give it a very nice look, they are the creation of Dave Douglass according to the file. Here are some photos of the process. |
