Kawanishi H6K by Ojimak
Dear All:
Ojimak Sensei kindly let me test his Kawanishi H6K, aka Mavis, or Type 97 Large Flying Boat. As you may know he designs flying paper models very close to the originals wit some licenses to enhance flying characteristics. In my case I will use the model statically. It went very well at 1/400 and I don't expect any problems at the original scale. The only additions I made were the spinners and the propellers. Trotskiy provided the spinners and Bruno the propellers from a B-17. Here is the work in progress, the H8K and the Do-18 to provide a sense of the dimensions of the flying boat. |

Well, at this seen from afar pictures, this flying boat seems ok. The flying boats collection is growing. Regards, TONY.

I always thought the H6K was a good-looking airplane, and it certainly played a prominent role in the first years of the Pacific War.
Yours looks very good, Pablo, even in this tiny scale. I like the way you kit-bashed using Trotsky and Bruno parts. Don |

Thank you Tony, Don, Pericles and Sergio for stopping by.
It is always encouraging when your fellows comment. Here is the completed model. I just realized that I will have to do a better on the H8K! May be in the future, there are some nice simple models available of the Emily. Hope you liked. ps. I think one of this would work nicely for a diorama on the Raid of Makin Island! |
