And... still working with the floats.
I HOPE to buy a color cartridge and refill the black one next week. (Or buy a new printer, depending on the price).
You can see here how to convert phisical parts to digital designs using semitransparent layers.
In fact, all the hard decisions are done, now comes the carpentry work (It's a spanish saying, not sure if it translates in english, it means simple, long but easy work)

Making the first placement test of the wing.
The wing root is massive, very massive, It's hard to see in the pictures, but you can see it in the instructions of the plastic model depicted here. In the real plane it was used to store repair tools and equipment to help a fast deployement.
I was planning to reinforce the external wing, but I'm seeing that it's unnecessary. Once the final shape of the wing and floats is done, just the engines and struts remain. So... soon, maybe this month.

Thanks, gomidefilho!

The cockpit and the small "glass bow" between nose and cockpit are finished. Remember that this is a prototype and there are a lot of corrections that I haven't printed, but they are drawn.
In the last picture you can see the broad wing root, and that it goes with a small negative dihedral.
Now comes to test the floats, design the engines, test them, and the last step, the float and tail struts (and the ladders, the chin and the radio mast)
Almost finished, then!

Assembling the floats, designing the engines.
I'm planing an easy way to let a gap between the cowls and the engine fairing. This engines are going to be easy to assemble and only seven parts each (plus the propeller), but still visually atractive and realistic.

Well, I decided to stop waiting for a perfect world and just go on with the one we live.
Meaning that at last I found a place to reload my black cartridge, reprinted the cardboard sheet and I'll start a final prototype hand painted exactly like I did with my Stranraer.
yankeekilo told me to build the first 1/33 model and I'm waiting to finish mine before asking another person to print the first definitive 1/72 model.
So, I'll paint mine like the one being restored by the Sola Flyhistorsik Museum, and thanks to my printer returning to active duty, the plane will advance faster.

This week I printed the final sections of the fuselage, included some tabs and etched the lines of the fuselage and tails.
So far, the only "difficult" part are the join of the "D" formers and the "I" support, and it just needed a bit of care.
The 8L+FH plane, the one I'll do for my own, is painted RLM72 /RLM73, with RLM65 undersides. Meaning "very dark green, very darker green and rainy clouds"
All the parts of the fuselage and tail are cut, and I expect to glue them today and start to paint tonight.

And small improvements.
Usually I apply two layers of paint, Humbrol or Testors are good brands, being very thin and not bending the paper (unless you let fall a cup of paint, of course).
There have been small improvements in the model sheet, mainly adding tabs and making corrections of half a milimeter.
I expect to end the paint and assembly of the wings, fuselage and floats by the weekend. Later comes the design and printing of engines, chin and supports.
And finally the instructions and publising.
I have a voluntary to assemble the first 1/33 model, still need another helper to assemble one at 1/72 scale. Anybody?
