Mirage 3c in metallic- Yaron repaint 1:30 scale

So I am on a Mirage jet fighter kick. All are Yoav original designs with some repaints by his capable friend Yaron. All are models of the Israeli Air Force.

To date, I have built the camouflaged Mirage 3c, Nesher ( Mirage 5 ) and the Kfir C7 repaint by Yaron ).

So I am left to build a metallic/silver original finish Mirage 3c as well as a grey Kfir c2. And since all were designed by Yoav, they share many parts and identical builds. So once you build one, you will be familiar with the rest.

For this build of the Mirage 3c, I will not post too many steps in the assembly since I already did it for the first Mirage here:

as an aside,
I hope that someone will repaint the only grey colored Mirage 3c in the IAF service.


then there are the two seaters as well as the long nosed recon versions.....No one likes those apparently ( but I do ).

Don't forget the nose weights if building the model on its hear.

I used a wooden chop stick or dowel to connect the front to the back fuselage for better support.

a quick note :

The ejection seat had to be shortened substantially since the original design had no landing gear bay installed ( the seat is directly over the forward gear bay ).

dry fit as you fit the canopy and cut the bottom of the seat as needed.

here is the frame for the wings. Add additional card to smooth it our as well as thin card stock internally per the instructions.




Also, cut out the opening and install the main gear bays.

You're off to a great start. Fuselage and wing assemblies look great.

As usual, I vacuform the canopy. It is attached to the upper spine fairing.


Suggest you attach the canopy and the upper fairing before attaching the two side inlets. Better access.
