1/144 Mig-21 "Capeti"

The Mig-21 "Capeti" was displayed at the Hungarian airshow at Taszar Air Base in 1992.
It was used as an "aggressor" aircraft in mock dog fights.

The name Capeti, is a play on the Hungarian Capa - "shark" and Peti - "Peter".
So, it is called Peter Shark.

I had seen this paint scheme, and made an assumption I could do a repaint of it,
using the Scissor and Planes Mig-21.

I rescaled the 1/100 kit to 1/144, added some fuselage air intakes, main wheel bulges,
flap actuator housings, landing gear retract actuators, and the silver paper exhaust.

And here it is.

Thank you to Gerry1966 for the use of his external tanks!

Beauty! The silvered exhaust adds so much to the overall impact of the model. Are your little masterpieces glued to their bases, or do you just set them on there for display?

Fantastic for something so small. I can imagine being in the hobby shop and seeing a eye catching ACM (air combat manuvers) box art grabbing my attention and making me want to buy this kit in 1/144th scale or bigger.

Thank you for sharing. The touch of the silver paper exhaust does the trick from very good to outstanding!

ps: The eternal question: where did you get the silver paper?
