Ok, long time ago, when I was a Flight Simulator fan (or, better said, when I had time), I wrote a tutorial about how to do it.
Here is the first part, but you'll need to read the parts 8 to 10.
A paper model it's not the same, but similar.

I like the DC-9. But the MD90 series to my knowledge has not been modeled in paper. I look forward to your designs.

Thanks for the link, Draco. I understand from reading the tutorials, that these are instructions how to repaint aircraft in FS, not how to use the colours to paint a paper model. Am I right?

Yes, but once you have the "white files" or wathever you want to call the parts of the plane without the livery, the process is the same. For example, this is the tail of the 727 of LSB, with the Iberia (unfinished) and Avensa livery, and a picture of the real one.
It's the same you are painting a part for FlSim or a paper model, it's the same process. I mean, you take a graphics editor, you erase, cut, paste, resize, correct.

OK, I see what you mean. So the FS livery files are in .bmp. .jpg or .psd (in use with Photoshop Elements). I never thought of that. Good trick!

No, no. The FS files are in a BMP format with an extra Alpha channel, as wrote in the tutorial. Paper models usally are in JPG, PDO or PDF format.

Anyway, as I'm finishing my He 115, the only improvement for now of the DC-9 / MD-80 / 90 is to look for possible livries and drawings of the plane. Once published the warbird I'll start the jetliner

Yesterday I finished my He115 project, uploaded it to ecardmodels and took a small pause.
So, today I'm thinking about my Dc-9/Md-80 project.
First, of course, I'll start with a DC-9-10. Then, I'll jump to DC-9-50, and third the MD-81/82/88 variants.
I won't forget the other models, just will be done latter.

So, I'll need your help first. Here are the sizes of all the series made to scale 1:72, 1:100 and 1:144. (Largo=Length, Ancho=Width)
Which do you prefer?

Ok, today my He115 has been released in ecardmodels. So, my Dc-9 / Md series is switching from proposal to proyect. As it is, I'll start soon a new thread with the development of this model. Hope you like it!

Subscribed! I’ve been waiting so long for a paper MD. Skyline did a great DC9 but he vanished years ago.
