At last the wings!
Printed and placed over an encyclopedia, that curiosly, has a 3d drawing of a MD-80 scale 1/100.
So, I'll print the wing squeleton, assemble the wings, and start with the fences and actuators.
You can see the layer of "dust" that I applied to all the wing, and compare it with the previous post where isn't displayed.
Finishing wing, engines, wheels. That's all. And starting the rest of the liveries while a friend does his beta test model.

Once I tried to glue the wing to the fuselage I found that the wing root was defective. I had to include more formers, and the testing, gluying and removing was too much for the central fuselage.
Looking for the good angle, with the new fuselage I included the internal reinforcements that will go with the final model. So, if it works for me, it will work for you.
And the wings are more stronger. In fact, you can hold the plane from the wingtip, something that very few models allow.

And the wings are glued, the tail is glued!
Love it!
There is a great difference between the 1rst try and the second, upgraded wing root. Definitely!
Now I let it dry, and begin to design the wing "extras".
And finally, engines and wheels!

Today made the first complete test of the engines. They are more complex that I believed, being guppy shaped. One thing I discovered is that they are exactly the same engines and nacelles that the lateral engines of the Boeing 727.

Anyway, in a few hours I'll correct some small milimetric details and glue them to the fuselage. I hope to finish the plane in two days, and another one to make the instructions and the Pdf cover.
As I said, I will release around ten versions of the DC-9-14, and more of the DC-9-15, that only changes on the adition of a secont door over the wings.

Engines build, printed and assembled!
Tomorrow the flap actuators and the wing fences. And maybe tomorrow the wheels too.
Add some instructions to the mix, a proper cover for the PDF, and it's ready to fly!

Please review your DC-9 nose section profile. It does not look correct.

Isaac
You are right. The nose and the lenght of the engines is wrong. And I spend two weeks fixing the nose.
Well, back to the design board. Thanks :-(

...and placing the engines again. I hope to design/assemble the new nose tomorrow.
BTW, I'll do the the DC-9-21 OY-KGE that Isaac published. It's a Dc-9-14 fuselage with Dc-9-31 wings, so it will be just a case of swapping the wing sheets (Once I have the -31 wings done, of course).

And the nose is finished!
There are some small differences between this model and the one to be published, like the air aconditioning valve under the engine intake that is going to be placed a bit ahead and another small ones.
But, anyway, now comes the flaps guides and the landing gear, then the instructions, and ready!
