I can see Tony's point. In fact the fuselage is too narrow. At 1:200 it's slimmer than the MiG-15 and MiG-17's which have one engine less. That's what gives the Su-7 impression.

Paragon's MiG-19 is in dark grey, the MiG-17 in red and the MiG-19 should probably be as wide as the green rectangle.

It needs a new fuselage with a least 4 or 5 segments depending of the intended scale. Papirmakettek's hand-drawn MiG-19 have between 7 and 8 segments but they're in 1:72 if I'm not mistaken. Aaron Murphy's model in 1:32 has 6 apparently. Bruno's 1:100 model has 5.

Of course, the Fitter is also a beast of a plane next to a MiG-15/17/19/21.

That mostly because the rear fuselage on Mig-19 was more like an ellipse than a perfect circle.

Mig-19's whole fuselage actually had almost the same thickness, I noticed that while I was visiting our local aviation museum and saw a real J-6/Mig-19.

Yes, it's more of an ellipsis. It's only round at the air intake.

It's the first time I see a J-6 with a shock cone. J-6 I ? J-6 II ?

I took this photo at Shenyang Aviation Museum in 2011.

I build this Xiaoyang's MiG-19 version and although I modified the nose it looks so slim given it a Sukhoi appearance. The aircraft needs a lot of modifications in order to look like a MiG-19.

Here are some mods I made to Paragon Xiaoyang version, and three WIPs of Mig-19s. Papirmakketek fuselage seems to be wide, Bruno's seems to be OK but lacks top central spine and landing gear. As background Murph Model's reduced to 1/100 scale MiG-19 who seems to be the best model.

I may not be successful but I'm going to attempt a new fuselage with 5 segments: two for the nose + 1 for the central section + 2 for the rear fuselage.

Looking forward to it.
Now I really want to build a Mig-19, and maybe the counterpart the F-100!
