1/33 Lysander Mk.II, No. 225 Squadron RAF
Yesterday I finished this model.
It's a Lysander Mk.II from Maly Modelarz, year 1997, scale 1/33. I thought it would be a very enjoyable model, not too difficult, but to my surprise, it wasn't. There're two major problems with this kit. First, like many other MMs, many but not all, this one has its parts also a bit inaccurate. You may find that something is too short, doesn't have a proper shape, etc. And unfortunately, it happens to half of the parts in the kit... The second problem, I think we can say is a result of the first problem. Everybody can see how does the Lysander look. It's a quite unusual aircraft, different from the others. So, when we combine inaccurate parts and unusual plane design... Then we have a quite unpleasant situation. Worst thing here was to install the wings... To conclude, in my opinion, the model is absolutely buildable, but only if you are skilled and experienced modeler, then you may try to give it a chance. It's definitely not for beginners. This kit has also a printing error. The "L" letter on the left side is brown. It has to be painted white. What's more, there's also no engine. I've made the imitation of it from scratch. The model is in markings of No. 225 Squadron RAF. First two posts will have photos from the building process and in the third post, you'll see the finished model.

Great work on interior Zenon. I build this model twice, first was when model came out (I'm told this model still exists in Poland) and second time I decided to scan it,scale it down and improve on wheel spats.Originals look horrible so I used simpler ones from early 60s Maly kit. Those fitted right in.That model got destroyed during move but a bit later I did recolor of mentioned early 60s Maly version. One of my first recolors and partial redraw.Hopefully link to gallery works.

Great build of a not so common aircraft! There's a very detailed Lysander Mk IIIA available from Orlik, and it looks like a great kit with lots of details. It was built by Tim Crowe and the thread is also to be found on this site.
