Isaac,

She looks great beside the MiG-15s. Another amazing model for your Soviet collection.

Well done!
Gary

Exclamation Drop tanks

I finally got around to build the two drop tanks normally carried by the Mig-17

Here are the major assemblies
Mig-17F Gary's repaint-img_4209.jpg

ready to install.
I will trim the two side stabilizing struts once it is fitted to the wing.

Here is a comparison with plastic tanks I got from a previous build.
Mig-17F Gary's repaint-img_4212.jpgMig-17F Gary's repaint-img_4213.jpg

Notice that the short pylon and stabilizers are much shorter than the paper version.

and installed

notice that I had to shorten the stabilizers and also relocate a bit aft to meet the wing leading edge.
The relocation is due in my opinion to the outline of the lower wing flaps ( which are too wide in my opinion and thus forced the pylon forward a bit, so I moved the struts aft to compensate ).

however, that is relatively minor issue.

A spectacular model, with a sharp finish, the cockpit is well made, only the pilot is missing.
