Now I am sure it's a constant pitch prop.
Thanks for suggestion.

You are correct Boris - the Rapide has fixed-pitch propellers. Variable pitch was only introduced on a few machines in later years.

Hello all
A small update
Front parts of the engine compartment and upper rear skeletons are ready.
Tried to figure out the way to provide pitch to the prop blades, didn't find any non destructive way of doing that.
There is a small fit issue with the lower front wrapping part, the one under the air intake. It is too large. I will try to adapt it with thin nail scissors.
I don't really see the way to attach the front engine part to rear. That looks like edge joint, which I am really bad at....
Well one picture worth thousand words, so, enjoy.

Well done Boris. If you have doubts about your capability to make edge to edge connections, you could consider to make small gluing tabs instead to make life easier.

Cheers,
Erik

israel airforce museum

Hi Boris,
You may know this already but when I was last at the Israel airforce museum in the south four years ago, there was an original DH-89 in their collection that was on display. It's a great museum.
Best
Barry

I haven't visited that IAF museum for at least 10 years. I remember there was this cutie on display, but its condition was not great at all. If you say it looked good, well, that is great thing to hear. I guess I will have to visit the museum....

Actually, the IAF museum looked good. The DH 89 was in a dark hangar so you couldn't really get a good look at its condition. Very interesting museum though. There are IAF personnel stationed there who will guide you around the exhibits.

Hello all
Had to take a break, but here I am back.
Continued with the top rear parts of the engine cowlings. Now I begin to recognize Pawel Mistevicz design. For some reason, the skin parts do not have gluing tabs, there are straight gluing tabs to be glued to the inner structure's ribs and then the skin parts should be mounted.
I thought of having the skin parts connected to a single skin piece and then mount them on to structure tabs without gluing to the ribs, but the curvature of the skin made it awkward for me. So, slowly and carefully, I built these parts according to instruction. There is design issue in rear cowling part, it is a bit longer than needed.
It seems that the front engine part is too big, will check this later

Enjoy
