Air Dave's P47 Razorback "Lucky" 1/33

Here is one I haven't seen built before, Dave's P47 Razorback "Lucky". I did modify it a little by using Wagner's eighteen cylinder Pratt and Whitney engine, cause I like to have the engines built up. I also made the sliding part of the canopy one piece. The instructions suggest trimming the end of the top of the fuselage to make it fit if to long, I trimmed the front because it allowed the rivet lines to more closely line up. You will need to cut a little notch out of the top front of that part to change the shape of that piece to flat so it will line up with the canopy and the former rib. I also cut out all those hateful little instruments in the instrument panel as I was supposed to do (got it on the first try, lol). I used the wing tanks instead of the bombs to go on the hardpoints, these are provided separately at Dave's site. It is a pretty straight forward kit to build and everything fits nicely.

Very nicely done!

May I inquire where you got the engine? I am in need of
an 18 cyl engine.

Beautiful work Mike. The detailed P & W adds nicely to the front view. I love it with the drop tanks.

Ray, the engine came from Wagner Models F6F which is 1/48 scale. I just increased the size to 1/33. I like that one because of all the stuff on the front, which is really visible on the P47 because of the large opening of the cowling.

Mike.
