I'll remind you the Rafale A demonstrator made its roll-out in december 1985 and its first flight in july 1986.

Are there any external differences between the SOKO J-22 Orao and the IAR-93 Vultur?

The only one I can consistently see is that the Vultur has boxier horizontal stabilizers with a light/sensor fixture typically on the end of the leading edge while the Orao's are more rounded. Also the Vultur seems to have two fences on each wing, but some of the Oraos seem to have that as well

I haven't worked on the J-22 in a few weeks--I've been frustrated with how the side profile seems maligned--but once I iron it out I will make some vulturs too!
