Here's the rest of Luis' lineup at this time. Wish he'd expand the line since he's The Best.

Thanks, Everyone!

We missed you Greg...next time will come soon enough!

Here is a bit more done on the cockpit area. All fits really well just like the SPAD. I do have a gap you can see on the top where the inner skins didn't butt up. Not sure why since everything else is spot-on. I'll see what happens when I add the outer skins. Hopefully, it will all be hidden and look just fine.

I added the floor compass, some piano wire seat rails, and some magneto parts as well. Still need to add a cable on that part toward the fire wall as well as a little aux throttle on the top left. Should be done tomorrow and then it will be fun to start shaping the outer skins for the fuselage! Hooray.

Thanks for looking...Dan

The cockpit is done. This is all just like the kit. I only added the little loop on the top left next to the machine gun mounts which is a back-up throttle and the crooked extension from the magneto controls (I think). I also mounted the seat and belts. Now...on to the outside fuselage skins!

Very well don Dan. A nicely detailed cockpit.

I'm sure that gap at the top of the where the inner skins join will be completely invisible when the exterior skins are added.

Thanks, All! You are right, Erik...I love the interiors a lot.

And Gary...I really wish you were right but alas...see below!

I started putting the fuse skins together. You can see in the shots that the designer has cleverly staggered seams that allow for a nice straight fuselage and he has also made the seams at actual plywood butt/lap joints. Looks great.

I have run into my first problem, though, and it hearkens back to the inner cockpit skins not matching up on top that Gary referred to. My cockpit tub is too big! I can't seem to wrap the skins around it (like me!). I am attempting to sand the tub and thin out the inner side of the paper skins as well hoping to remove just enough so that it will all fit, but I think I may need to redo the cockpit with thinner paper or make the skins with thinner paper. I bet that the paper I'm using is just a bit too wide and several "too wides" turn into large issues down the line. Bummer.

Of course, I can just reprint the whole kit if things really go wrong! I can also salvage all the interior part so we'll see what I do. Maybe take a break and work on the wings and tails. This model is too pretty to give up entirely!

More soon...once I get enough courage to figure out what to do! Paper can be a cruel mistress! :

After sanding everything until it's almost transparent and cutting a few bits off (that I can replace)...Great Day in the Morning...I got it in! Phew...

We'll see how the forward fuselage goes!

Dan

P.S. Notice how nicely the markings all line up. This is Halinski stuff in WWI!
