Isaac, the A-4 looks great with the landing gear on. I believe they look the correct height (with the nose sitting higher). Pretty close anyway.

Yes, the nose gear is higher on the Skyhawk.

I will post pics later to show it.

Isaac, that's a very impressive result up so far. Interesting how the wheel wells sort of slice through the wing fairings. I wonder what the purpose of these fairings is.

A note to Yoav: Is there a typo in the text on one of the pictures? "Armament" instead of "Armamnet".

Regards,
Erik

The landing gear is attached externally on the wing lower surface. Therefore it needs to be faired smooth.

Isaac
Also,

This is a similar landing gear configuration as in the Curtis P-40 other that on the P-40 it retracted aft,

while in the Skyhawk it retracted forward. The wheel in both planes rotated 90 degrees and was stowed in the wing. The fairing is primarily for the struts and part of the wheel brakes assembly to allow proper clearances.

Exclamation Canopy

The A-4E/F/H canopy was different than the later N / M versions, so please make sure you use the correct version

Here are the frames

canopy is on. I tried to line up the forward edge of the windshield, but then could not line up the two side white markers. I think given teady hands, all 3 points could have matched.

as an aside , here is a canopy blank used for vacuforming.

Hello Isaac.
I think your canopy is a bit backwards and that's why you do not have an optimal match between the two white markers.

YOAV

look here.

And from a full side view

and from the other side
