1/33 PZL-101 Gawron

It's a model I finished couple days ago. Another plane.
This one might be considered as an "experiment". I decided to reprint the original kit on a normal paper, using inkjet printer. Then I glued the sheets, or fragments of it, on the cardboards I found adequate.
What are the conclusions? First, and most important - inkjet printer is not a good choice for paper models in bigger scales, especially if you have a habit of applying the varnish later. The colors, ink, may be easily damaged, washed off, if you're using a brush for applying the varnish. Inkjet print is also very vulnerable to water which may also damage the surfaces of the model.
So the inkjet print was a bad decision.
However, reprinting the kit on a normal paper and then gluing it on adequate cardboards was a good decision. This allowed me to choose, for almost each part of the plane, a cardboard which would be the best for each role. You know, the thicker carboard for the fuselage, wings, etc. Thinner carboard mostly for parts that have to be formed in a some kind of more irregular shape.
From my own over 60-year experience, I can say that the paper of the original kit is often far from being perfect. Usually it's a bit too thin or too thick. Of course, you can still build a model from it but you may encounter various problem during the building process...

For over 10 years, I often choose to reprint my model kits on a different cardboards/papers, using professional laser printing services. Thanks to that, I can have my models extremely solid, on the best paper/cardboard for each, with great colors, and even water-resistant to some degree.
That's how I often choose to build models these days.

Anyway, the model I'm showing you today is a PZL-101 Gawron (from GPM), a Polish agricultural and utility aircraft.
Scale is 1/33.
I'll build this one again one day...

Interesting aircraft and a great model there!

Good idea on the cardboard use as well. What glue did you use to stick the card and paper together?

Zenon, it's a great model. Very nicely done. I do love the classic lines of the aircraft, it's beautiful.

I use the white glue or bookbinding glue. Both work fine for this.
