I always liked the look of that chubby, but graceful, airliner.

Merci!

That plane reminds me of a floor joist with wings attached but that's my work talking.

Unusual, yes, but it's just a different take on same idea that made C-124 Globemaster.

Cargo haulers are rarely pretty but eye is in the eye of a beholder.

Not necessarily. You can do that with specialized programs and months of study, but the real world is sometimes faster and gratifying. I believe there is a lot of people that doesn't do wonderfull things because they believe that you need to have taken a specialized career to build a chair.

which program do you suggest?, is it possible to finish a fuselage in half a day with that program?

I very much enjoy seeing the step-by-step process of rollation.

John Glessner (DrLaser) once gave a lecture on that process at the 2013 Paper Modelers at the Army Heritage and Education Center event. He used images of engineers at the Grumman plant using rollation to determine the shape of the fuselage panels of the mock up of the Duck floatplane. Unfortunately, I only have one of his slides, the last one; but it is a good comment on the technique - in John's case, it WAS rocket science (he having been a USAF rocket scientist).

great story!!! I think those images have to help , definitely everything starts off by having a good set of blue prints and of course, as you mention; if they came from engineers they had to be at scale, thank you for the pic , very cool!!!
