Update: I had a heck of a time getting the cowling to fit properly. Perhaps it's a result of down-sizing the model. After repeated tries, and after ruining the first build, I started over, managed to get the thing together so that it looks okay, if not perfect.

Next up will be the wing which has an unconventional layout in terms of the model design.

The cowl doesn't look too bad- one of the advantages of small scale builds.

Don't know how far you've progressed with the wings, but one problem I've encountered with one piece varying chord wing types is the tapering outer section when built tends to have an unavoidable but very noticeable drooped appearance. One way around this is to separate the wings at the chord change points (indicated), attach join tabs, rejoin setting at correct angles.

Extra build time I know, but it does make for a better looking finished model.

The top wing of the F6C pictured illustrates another example.

Some progress on the Cessna. The wing is composed of five pieces which assemble as one before attaching to the fuselage. It all went together without much difficulty. At this point I am thinking that this is a decent model overall given its simplicity.

I don't know if Chip Fynn ever expressed publically a philosophy of model design, but it seems he was not concerned about strict scale accuracy. His Morane Saulnier "Bullet" is a good examp!e of what might be considered a caricature model or "stand-off scale", just for fun.

I finished the rescaled FG Cessna 150/152. I think it turned out pretty well given some fit issues which may not have been a problem with the model itself.

Thanks for illustrating your build. I like the external jig approach - I remember that challenge when I built the same model at the original scale. Great trick! I think many of the FG models are sculptural gems, that show what can be achieved without internal skeletons.

That turned out very nice sir. The Cessna 152 is something like the Piper Tomahawk: Simple aircraft but a great joy to fly.

Regards,
Erik
