Kiwi2.....YES! DO IT! BUILD IT!
Your float plane version is a great idea. It shouldn't be difficult. Hey, also a Schneider Trophy version?

Kestrel on floats
Here you go Larry . I haven't made it yet. A bit busy setting up a sectional warp on our loom.
Shifted the guns inboard to concentrate weight inboard of the floats. Scuttlebutt has it that the Marines are looking at a water cooled inline version. |

Kiwi2, your float plane version looks great!. I'm looking forward to the completed model!
On a sad note, I've discovered the P-27 file I uploaded to this forum is corrupted. Straight lines are jagged due to enlargement that wasn't intended. Then I discovered that the file on my computer was affected. Yikes! Long story short....I'm recreating the original file which will have lovely smooth lines. This I will upload in a day or so.

I've toyed with the idea of a gull wing version ala the PZL-11, certainly do-ab!e. Also played around with a jet version ala the Yak-15....I like the concept because this first Yak jet was an adaptation of tbe prop driven Yak-3. But I don't see this as do-able in the case of tbe P-27. Lots of fun thinking about it though!
