Looking forward to starting this later this week. Apart from the careful work that has gone into the design and the silver finish, I am attracted by not having to make a fiddly landing gear like my last three models!

Thanks Siwi!

Well the PDF of the Saro London K5262 201 Sqn has been finished and the first one has been delivered!

Now I'll be making the 1/33 and 1/100 versions, and after that I'll be taking a few day to do some repaints of the B-23 Dragon and upload them on ecardmodels. Join Venture Group has been a very interesting proyect that I hope will include many more models.

Ok, 1/33 versions, here I go!

AAAAnnnnd the 1/100 version of the Saro London K5262 201 Sqn has been finished and delivered to my beta-tester!

From 1/72 to 1/100 is easier: just removed some internal reinforcements and shrunk the PDF from 9 pages to 7 (including cover and instructions).

Now I think I going to take a break of a few minutes!

Ok, Saro London K5262 201 Sqn, scale 1/33, finished and delivered to my beta-tester.

Now, while they assemble and take pictures of the beta models, I'll finish the 204 Sqn versions and I'll take some time assembling my Dc-9-20 and doing some B-23 Dragon.
Pictures soon!

Well, right now there are three beta test of my Saro London being assembled, and all of them requested the same prewar metalized one.
I was planing to do a combo of both Stranraer and London of the 240th Sqn, serial BN-L, but now I'm having doubs.
What would you prefear: the camouflaged combo or a combo of the prewar metalized planes (K5262 "Z" + K7287 "L")?

A contrasting combo of camo and metal would be my suggestion.

Well, my beta-testers are testing.
So far, the changes sugested are needed because the London is not a tipical biplane, and the normal modeler won't have seen the pictures and drawings that I saw.
For example, the central section of the upper wing is fatter than the outer sides. That's because there are four internal fuel tanks in it. But the modeler needed to think a bit to see that. So, a change of the instructions. Now is clear.
Another example: one of the wing struts goes to the engine instead of the upper wing. So, I included a picture to clarify that detail.
Anything else, so far, wonderfull!

The London is still in the beta-test stage.
There are three beta-testers, one for each scale.
One is doing it "out of the box" as we say in plastic modes and the beta-test idea is.
Other is extracting from the model everything that can be took, and I like it because I build them to be improved.
And the third is doing real life work, that is perfectly valid too.
So far, just small improvements and slighty better instructions is the only changes required.

Today Siwi detected an incredible mistake in the keel of the Saro London. If you see the section that goes from the rear of the wings to almost the front of the elevators, in BOTH drawings is slightly curved and very difficult to do.
Now, Siwi saw the picture, and it is STRAIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe it. Of course I made the correction and sent it to the rest of my beta-testers. Now it's just only a part and very easy to place.

Important lesson: Don't trust the 3d drawings, not matter how detailed it looks.
