And ready.
One piece instead of five. Easier and realistic.

In fact both drawings are also inaccurate in regards to the bottom elevator strut (missing in one, misplaced in another) and the shape of the engine covers (should be made of eight flat sides on the Mk 1). I wonder, maybe you could consider including these Mk1 shape engines as an option?

Of course, nine sides, one for each cylinder. Didn't know it was only the prototype, it has a somewhat steampunk look.

Two more changes:
Siwi detected that the propellers are unpainted wood. I confess that I bring mine straight from my Supermarine Stranraer. But, the London's are unpainted wood, so fixed. And I made a reworking of the 1/100 scale model, removing around 20 formers and ribs to simplify the assembly (including the new keel)

Today Siwi has finished his Saro London 1/72 scale, and has given me permission to use his pictures in ecardmodels.
So, the K5262 (silver) has been uploaded in 1/72 and 1/33 scales, and the BN-L scale 1/72 too. I'm waiting for the beta-model from Péricles, that is almost finished, to release the 1/100 ones. Meanwhile, I'll be finishing the rest of the family or you can download the ones that will be available in a very few days.

After a long wait, a great attention to details and an extensive research over the original plane, today ecardmodel has released the K5262 version (bare metal) of this plane in 1/72 and 1/33 scale!
They had released too the BN-L camouflaged in 1/72 scale, and the Combo 6 comprising the Saro London BN-L and the Supermarine Stranraer BN-L, both from the 240 Sqn! Soon the BN-L and Combo 7 in 1/33 scale will be released, and all the 1/100 versions of them!

As I said, three versions of the London are available for download in Ecardmodels. Same with one combo of London and Stranraer.
In a few days, the camouflaged London in 1/33 scale and another combo at the same 1/33 scale will be available, too. And probably all the versions in 1/100 scale, once I have the pictures of the finished beta-test. Meanwhile, two days ago I was thinking about how upset and disapointed I was with the experiment that I did in the fuselage of my London, with painted wire. And suddenly I had the idea of using grass stems to simulate the metal strips on the surface. So far, I have used it over the keel, but the result is MUCH BETTER than the first experiment I did. Yo can compare the bottom and lateral sides. WARNING: It's 100% better to let the plane in their natural color printed finish. My alpha model uses this stems because I love to tinkerer and upgrade everything that is upgradable, but in this case, I repeat, the model is much better being just printed and assembled.

Draco, that's a genius idea. All the strips on my build are really overscale, but I would have struggled making them any thinner without problems cutting and disintegrating during the gluing process. And whilst the result looks more realistic and helps disguise the joins between fuselage segments, it was tedious...
These 'corregations' where strips of metal sheet were joined were actually a weak point in the structure of the aircraft, because they were prone to splitting after a certain period of use and probably didn't help the aerodynamics on an already slow 'plane. The reason for the design being this way was that it made the internal ribs much easier to build since they didn't need to be cut to fit longerons. Other flying boats of the period like the Stranraer, which uses a conventional build, has a smooth outside skin and had a much longer career. |

From today is available in ecardmodels the 1/33 version of the camouflaged Saro London from the 240th Sqn.
It has been released too the combo with one London and one Stranraer, both from the same squadron and the same BN-L markings. The 1/100 scale beta-test version of this plane has been finished, so I'll be uploading the PDFs to ecardmodels today and it will be available to donwload in a few days!
