Beautiful, clean work on such a large model.

Thank you guys.
Clean work? I doubt it myself, and I'm gonna hide the faults as far as possible. Must admit when dealing with large scale models, you just can't be wishy-washy. You have to plan ahead like whether cutting inside the line or outside it, or even on it? When assembling with dry-fitting before that, you have to be overly gentle and light in holding the body (fuselage) and limbs (wings) just like holding your ????? Not to mention patience, patience and patience and curses, curses and curses (like why am I doing this? I just can't fail but what if I do after doing that much?). Your excitement and passion is then on the law of diminishing returns. That's why you need a simpler and easier side project handy to keep you up. That's why I prefer building small scale models as much as practicable. |

We're our own toughest critics (or should be) papermate. The problem is a builder spends hour after hour looking at his project so sees imperfections and boo-boos that others wouldn't notice.
Believe me, from where I stand, you're doing an exceptional job on this monster.

ANTONOV 225, commonly known as AN-225, 1/100
Okay guys. Now it's done. The long awaited AN-225 model, 1/100 and the sadly missed gigantic transporter that was destroyed some time ago, is now presented. Murph says he'll publish both 1/100 and 1/200 versions of this monster but whether in one kit or two, it's entirely his call. The model I have beta built for him has an operating nose cone that can be opened and closed. Man, it's a real challenge for anyone who dares to give it a try. Of course, Murph has provided parts in his kit for a closed nose version. That means a no fail version for everyone.
Level of difficulty, from 0 to 5*, it's entirely up to you - 1/100 and 1/200 1. Operating nose cone ***** 2. Closed nose version with landing gears *** to **** 3. Flight mode ** 4. Just grab the kit and look (0*) And, please build a hangar for this giant. I'm thinking how and where to house her, or a Mandala way of disposal. It's really too big in my crowded home and I've become her slave. |
