Building the Fiat CR-42 by Answer Model Art

Hello all,

In parallel to my other models that are in work, started a new one. It is a 1-33 scale Answer ModelArt Fiat CR-42.

Fuselage is made of sections with formers, connected by tabs. First step is to do the cockpit that is inserted in fuselage part 5.

I chose a diferent approach - partially bonding the rear and front formers to the skin, to give it some rigidity, and than assemble the cockpit parts.

While building the sections and fuselage assembly, I noticed that some of the fold-outs are note acurate. This gapes should be coverd with additinal assemblies.

Fuselage with it's problems is done.

An excellent beginning on this model of a historic and (to my eye) very good-looking airplane.

Looks like a nice kit. Not too crazy in terms of parts but leaves room for additional detailing if you wish.

I built this kit back in 2010 after seeing a finished example on one of the Polish forums. The kit has its problems, but the graphics are beautiful, and the finished model is an eye-catcher. Good luck on yours!

Thanks Don, rmks2000, ccoyle and Yoav for your encouraging comments.
The attached link is very interesting Chris, really a good looking model. It's my first Italian aircraft I am building.

Neat, Shalom!

I recently got this kit and have been itching to build it. I'll be taking notes!

Hi Mor, that's indeed a good start. You have my attention as I'm considering a biplane build as well for somewhere in the future (never done it before....). Good luck with this one, given the heads up by other members on the fitting issues.

Cheers,
Erik

Thanks Gary, Dan and Eric for yours interest and comments. This model has it's problems, but with paitiont they can be overcam, think the final result will justify all the effort.
