Flying surface time. Many of my aircraft builds have not made it past this part

Thought I would try something a bit different. I dampened the reverse side of the card and then formed the leading edge.

I'm surprised how well this technique works. I think it helped that the leading edges are quite fine.

Time to put things together

Looks great from the top, the under side less so. Fortunately the fillets hide things nicely

Fin spar is a 3mm dowel made from bamboo

Replace the card horizontal stabilizer spar with wood - should be a little more durable

Looks good. I do like the fillets on the wings and vertical fin.

Did you remember to add weights to the nose to prevent it from being a tail seater? If not, you can hide it under the pilot's seat.

Very nice work Tim. The fit is excellent.

Thanks,

Instructions mentioned 14 grams. Two 10mm nuts glued near nose.

It balances so far.

Any extra, like you say, under the drivers seat

The wing turned out very well. I envy you those clean, well-formed wing filets (always a downfall for me).

Canopy time.

Panted the reverse of the frames black. Then stuck onto double-sided tape.

Carefully cut-out with a fresh blade

Fitted the frames, prior to cutting the canopy out. Double-sided taped means you can re-position the frames, if required.

Canopy is glued into place using white glue
