Very good Tim. The leading edge of the wing and the fillets really turned out very well, and precise.
I wonder how you handle the double-sided tape for the canopy, in my experience things can get very messy quickly with the glue on both sides of the tape. Or are you using tape that has a peel on one side of the tape? And shouldn't the paper frames be pre-shaped before applying the tape?

Cheers,
Erik

My experiences with double-sided tape have been mixed. I find that the adhesive on the tape doesn't hold small paper parts tightly enough, especially thin, spindly canopy frames. I have since discovered Evergreen Canopy Glue, and that has been working much better for me.

The tape I use has a peel-off layer on the reverse side. Didn't bother shaping before applying to canopy.

It's a pain cutting out the frames with the smooth peel-off layer on the reverse. The one big advantage is you can re-position the frames. I've had some disasters over the years using UHU to stick frames

A recent build, again using the same technique.

Tim

Not had great experiences using glue with canopies. Usually end up with glue where it shouldn't be.

Your message did remind me that I had bought some canopy glue. Formula 560. It's described as the world's best. Must try it out some time.

Tim

The canopy framing came out great.

I never tried the double sided tape routine, but may give it a try especially the dreaded multi pane canopies like the Antonov AN-2 biplane which I dread.

She's finished

The model has built up well. And I'm pleased with the result.
