The beta of the 1/72 mostly went together very easily, as expected only a few minor things to adjust and suggestions for additional labelling of parts on the instructions. The model measures 31cm long and has a wingspan of 38cm. I wouldn't consider this to be a particularly difficult model in this scale, the only really small and fiddly parts are the exhausts which could be replaced by toothpick sections if rolling them is too difficult, likewise the guns. Otherwise the parts are generally easy to handle.
I plan to build the Dutch X-24 later this year, with interior, control surfaces, engines and possibly a cutaway section of the wing. Given how huge this aircraft will be in 1:33, wondering if a 1:48 version might be possible?

Again, thanks to Siwi for assembling this and the London beta-test!
About the big scale, good question, but let's ask to the friends that read this thread: would YOU like to assemble a 1:48 version?

No, that would be too big and unpractical for a normal house. 1:72 would be best, in my view.

Both DJ+ZM and SAR have been uploaded to ecardmodels, should be available to download this weekend.
Now I'm working with the CD+BH (Seenotgruppe 3) and the X-24 currently in the Nationaal Militair Museum in Soesterberg, Utrecht. The changes should be just the central turret in the case of the X-24. I hope to finish them next week.

Building the wings of the SAR version. You can see that the little watchpoint ahead of the cockpit has been placed.
Once the CD+BH (Seenotgruppe 3) and the X-24 are finished and uploaded, I'll start to design the plane at 1:33 scale, so next week will do. I have a lot of versions planned, including combos and some "What if" versions that would show how this plane would have been if another countries had keep them flying instead of using the Pby-5s BTW: A lot of the small parts are optional, so donīt be scared!

Ok, everybody, today has been released the first two versions of the Do-24t in ecardmodels.
They are the DJ+ZM from Seenotstaffel 7 based on Athens-Phaleron in 1943 and the HD5-4 belonging to the Spanish SAR and based on Pollensa in 1966. Both are in 1:72. Both versions in 1:33 scale will be released the next week. The propellers can turn, and the gun turrets can turn, too. The DJ+ZM has two sets of tails, one censored and the other not. The instructions are detailed and step by step, and there are a lot of details that you can include or left outside if you want to. Thanks again to siwi for assembling the beta-test model used in this pictures. So, enjoy this wonderfull plane and one of the most attractive floatplanes of all the times!

Ok, the dowloads from ecardmodels have started! Thanks and enjoy!
And the beta-test of the spanish SAR is going perfectly. I have some mixed feelings about the UHU glue. It's definitely better than the water based glue I was obliged to use here in Venezuela, but it's easier to unglue the parts. That's perfect when you make a mistake, but I'm not sure the glue will hold 30 years as my loved Testors one does. Any way, you can use it, it's good. The conversion of the Do-24T to 1:33 scale has a 55% of advance, and it should be ready to download by the end of February. I'll released both the DJ+ZM and the SAR in this scale. Again, enjoy the models!
